LAS VEGAS, Nev., Oct. 12, 2004 — Commuter Air Technology (CAT) today announced
that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved a comfortable new
passenger seat developed for King Air 200, B200 and 300 aircraft.
The lightweight, airline-style seat, which weighs just 14 pounds, is on display
this week in the Commuter Air Technology Exhibit (Booth 11725). It is the only
high-density, lightweight commuter airline-style seat on the market, according
to Sam L. Jantzen, Jr., vice president of marketing and sales for the company.
Improved components
will make the seat more durable, while an ergonomic redesign and the addition
of memory foam will make it more comfortable, literally “wrapping passengers
in comfort,” Jantzen said. The seats are ideal for regional or commuter
airline operators who typically carry 13 passengers.
Commuter Air Technology
is also pursuing FAA certification of the seat for King Air 100, A 100 and B
300 aircraft.
Known to many in the industry as the “Home of the CATPASS,” Commuter
Air Technology was founded in 1985 by aviation industry innovator Keith Nickels.
The CATPASS 250 is a King Air 200 equipped with a special package of 18 enhancements,
including high-density seats, installed by Commuter Air Technology.
In addition to
the new seat, CAT recently introduced a new “no frills” 60-cubic
foot cargo pod.
