Government and special mission operators may choose to improve the performance of their King Air 200s with enhancement packages from CAT. These aircraft may be used effectively for surveillance, maritime patrol, search and rescue, counter-terrorism, electronic reconnaissance and light cargo roles.

Enhancements offered for these special purpose applications include extended nose with retractable FLIR mount, soft-touch tires, extended range fuel tank, 60 cubic foot cargo pod that also can be used as a radome and various other performance modifications.

Studies of the CATPASS 250 indicate that government operators of King Air 200s could experience a 1,500 pound (680 kg) gross weight increase and an extra 188 gallons (710 liters) in fuel savings. Endurance would also increase significantly -- from 5.2 hours to 8.2 hours with optional extended range fuel tanks. CATPASS 250s are in service with government clients around the world.
